Right Thinking, Right Living

I hope you are doing well!
I’ve noticed during this season it’s a lot easier to focus on the negatives rather than the good things that may be happening.

Whatever we focus on gets magnified.

Paul wrote the letter to the Philippians while he was in prison!
Yet he he hardly mentioned this in his writings.

In 4:8 he says “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

Paul knew that there was great value in focusing on the right things.

No matter our situation there will always be something right we can focus on.
I believe the more we do this the more it becomes part of our life, and actually seeing the negatives becomes harder.

This week let’s spend some time changing our thinking.
Let’s not dwell on or magnify the negatives but occupy our thoughts with things that are:
-true (sometimes this is not social media!)
-noble (people with good character)
-right (following Jesus)
-pure (no double life)
-lovely (friendly)
-admirable (has a good reputation)
-excellent or praiseworthy (good morals)

As we think on the right areas it will lead to a change in our words, attitude and life with God’s help!
