Following Jesus’ Sacrifice at Easter

“But Christ died for us while we were still sinners. In this way God shows his great love for us.”
Romans 5:8 ICB
The Story of Easter

To commemorate Jesus' victory over sin and death, and as a symbol of God's great love for us humans, the first Sunday after the Paschal full moon is always celebrated as Easter. Easter is celebrated as the day of Jesus Christ's resurrection from His death, which is commemorated three days after He was crucified.
We can hear the story of Jesus' crucifixion in one of the verses of Luke 23:33-43, which reads as follows:
When they came to the place that is called The Skull, they crucified Jesus there, with the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments. And the people stood by, watching, but the leaders scoffed at him, saying, “He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One!” The soldiers also mocked him, coming up to him, offering him sour wine, and saying, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself!” There was also an inscription over him, “This is the King of the Jews.”
One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, “Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!” But the other rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, when you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.” And he said to Jesus, “Remember me, when you come into your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
From the verses above, we can see the immense love of God for us, humanity, who have committed many sins in this life. Even though He was mocked and suffered pain, His love endured. This is evident in the sacrifice of Jesus, who willingly gave His life on the cross to redeem our sins. Jesus' death paves the way for salvation and eternal life for us, His followers, who believe in Him.
Therefore, in this special moment, let us not only reflect on God's extraordinary love, but also strive to show that love to others through real actions. We can start from small things first, such as:
Giving Time and attention to others
serving in the community
