Language Exchange is a place you can enjoy speaking in another language while making friends with people from all over the world. We are a warm and welcoming group of people who love meeting new friends!
Whether you know absolutely no English yet or you are already fluent, we are confident this is a meet up you will enjoy!
Every week we will open up with introductions where everyone will say their name, where they are from, and a random question for that week. Then we will play a fun game and talk about a topic for the week.

Each session is designed to engage and inspire conversation, usually around thirty minutes long. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from "Who is Jesus?" and "How can we have faith?" to "Why and how do I pray?"and "How does God guide us?"
Alpha is held after Language Exchange.

wave Night (U30s)
We are excited to invite you to community with other young adults and youth across all of our Japanese campuses. This is a chance to make friends with other people in our church all over Japan, to grow in faith, and for opportunities to share what God is and has done in your life with others. Meeting at 8pm, 1st and 3rd Friday of the month on Zoom.
From the North to South, East to West, the goal is to see God move in Tsunami like waves through encouragement, stories, community, discussions, and preaching. Through Wave Night, we believe God’s wave will reach places and people that we have not yet been or seen. (Online)
We want to make a ripple for God here in Japan through our young people.

Writing Connect Group
At the International Writing Connect Group, we share short pieces of writing via our LINE group, correct each other's writing, and then discuss the corrections together. It's a kind of language exchange!
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”
Galatians 5:22-23 ESV
Come enjoy a fruitful language exchange with us! You can create any type of writing - diary, academic, fiction, letters, presentations, casual SNS posts etc. You can write in English or Japanese (and possibly other languages depending on the group members). Please write 5 to 10 sentences (keep it short please so everyone can have time).
Members submit their writing by 11:59PM every Friday via a Note on our LINE Group. Then volunteers correct each writing. On Sunday we take turns reading our corrected writing out loud, and discuss the topic, grammar, tone and word use. During the discussion you can speak English or Japanese.
Come check us out as an observer! Feel free to not write, and instead just join to listen and discuss, especially for the first time. You don't have to write a piece every week.
