Hey everyone〜 It’s me! Pan de Mike〜
Today we are gonna continue with our series on salvation!
Why did you decide to receive Jesus?
What are some of the changes you have experienced since receiving Jesus?
Are some of the questions I’m gonna ask today!
So without further ado, let’s get into the interview of our handsome guy with a bright smile, Mr Howard!!
：Before receiving Jesus, what kind of person were you?
:I felt hopeless because I didn’t have anything I could rely on or trust and I was worried about the future.
Howard:During my childhood, people hurt my feelings. My heart was filled with many wounds from people, that’s why I felt that I couldn’t trust anyone.
：That is tough to experience that in your childhood
So how did you get to know about Jesus?
:I used to go to a church in Fukuoka when I was 10 years old, but I found church very boring. One summer, I was invited to Lifehouse Summer Camp. I used to be very shy and introverted, but then 2 of my friends filled in the application form for Summer Camp on behalf of me. So I decided to go.
：Hang on a minute! Were you forced to go to Summer Camp?
I am starting to worry about this…
: No, they just filled in the form for me and it was my decision to press ENTER so that’s okay!
：Phew! You scared me for a second!
:I saw so many people being healed by God there.
I heard their stories about how they got healed and that really encouraged me.
Especially 4 of my friends from Osaka really looked after me.
I felt God’s love for his people as I heard their stories and I was moved to tears. That’s how I started my journey to becoming a Christian.
：Wow! What an amazing story! I am so glad you went to Summer Camp!So what changed after receiving Jesus into your heart?
:I became more friendly and I started loving people. By having God by my side, I can stay positive even in challenging circumstances.
：Wow ! That’s a big change! I am super encouraged.
So who is Jesus to you, Howard?
:I have a relationship with God. God is not a just a religion. He’s just like a family member.
：God has welcomed you into his family! God is so good! Was there any difficulties you have overcome with God’s help?
:It helps me to keep my eyes on God even in difficult situations. At work, I had a boss who gave me a lot of tasks to do.
It was very stressful, but God reminded me that He always has a plan for my life, and that means that He also has a plan for me in my workplace.
This gave me hope. Because of that hope, I could maintain a good attitude.
I think that if it wasn’t for God, I wouldn’t have been able to have a good attitude and would be in a bad mood and possibly react negatively towards my workmates.
：That is so good that your faith is helping you at your workplace! What is your favorite Scripture and why?
: “But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.”
Hebrews 3:13 (ESV)
We tend to be shy when it comes to encouraging others and may let that shyness hold us back, but this verse encourages me to encourage others, so I love this verse. I think encouraging others is very important!
：Awesome!!! Is there any advice you’d give to those tuning in to this interview?
:I want to encourage all of you to follow God and live for him.
This will be a major stepping stone in your life.
God is always with you, so even if you don’t believe in him, He will lead you to Him so just be ready! Don’t worry. Take it easy.
：Thank you Howard for sharing your amazing story! I can see that God has changed Howard who was hurt by people in the past. Isn’t it awesome to be part of God’s new family?
Hope you were all encouraged by Howard’s story! This series I’m gonna keep on going!
Until next time!
