Romantic Relationships: Is this the right one? – A Relationship that Recognizes Each Other’s Value

Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
nations in exchange for your life.
– Isaiah 43:4

Previously, we talked about relationships in which we forgive one another. And wonderful things really do happen when people are able to let go of bitter feelings toward their partners. One such occurrence is recognizing each other’s value.

Please let me tell you straight that you have as much value as God’s one and only son who took our place and died on the cross for us.

Marriage is a relationship in which our everyday lives are shared. That is why if we decide our partner’s value based on their behavior or appearance, that value will disappear. Marriage is a relationship in which we bare all of ourselves to our partners.

But in reality, we are a precious existence and this fact will never change. Even if we are worn out and covered in filth, we are so expensive and precious that Jesus was crucified on the cross for us.

Is Your Current Relationship or Romantic Feelings Leading to a Relationship in Which You Can Recognize Each Other’s Value?

First of all, I would like you to recognize your own personal value. I want you to acknowledge that you are a precious existence. That worth is not yours to decide, for it is God’s decision.

When you recognize your own value, I believe you will be able to realize how much your partner recognizes your fundamental value. Also, I believe you will be able to see your partner’s fundamental value and cherish it.

Just like forgiving each other is necessary, recognizing each other’s value is also necessary in any relationship. And it is even more so for people within a marriage- a relationship that most closely connects people.

So, take this word as your standard of value for today!

Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give people in exchange for you,
nations in exchange for your life.
– Isaiah 43:4
