Tired of cooking the same things at home? Our Environments Team has shared some fun recipes you can try during this time. Today, we’d like to teach you how to make the Vietnamese style sandwich “Banh Mi,” with a recipe from Manami.

Servings:

2 Sandwiches

Ingredients:

Sliced pork belly – 4 slices

1/2 of 1 medium sized carrot

A 5cm piece of daikon radish

Marinade:

Chinese 5-spice powder 1/2 tsp

Soy sauce 1 tbs

Fish sauce 1 tbs

Honey 1 tbs

Seasoning:

Sugar 1 tbs

Vinegar 2 tbs

Fish sauce 1 tbs

2-3 stems of coriander

Liver paste

Optional topping: cucumber

Directions:

1.Marinate the meat in the marinade for 30 minutes.

2.Thinly slice the carrot and daikon radish, and let them marinate in the seasoning for 30 minutes.

3.Cook the meat.

4.Lightly toast your buns and serve the remaining ingredients. Spread a layer of the liver paste on them and add carrot/daikon radish mix, meat (optional topping: sliced cucumber) and top with coriander.

Enjoy!
