Everyone is creative in their own way. We are all made in the image of God, the Creator.
One of the great things we get to do is to use this creativity to tell the world about Jesus, and to inspire, build, andinfluence others.
Here’s some thoughts on how to get the best out of the creative people around you.

1. Don’t pre-judge who is and who isn’t creative.

As I mentioned before, everyone is creative in their own way, in all different areas.
You might be surprised at who could have an incredible creative idea.
If that person doesn’t feel like they can express their idea out of fear of being ignored, then that potentially great idea will remain unused.

2. Creativity needs a time limit and set outcomes.

God created the whole earth and everything in it in six days! Whilst we may not be that productive,
we still need to define what we need to create, and by when.
If you, like me, have a bit of a perfectionist streak in you, then we really need to have a deadline, or we will never finish anything!
The end result of all our creativity is that we are communicating the message/theme we want to communicate.
So, if things look/sound great but become too abstract, we need to take a step back and ask ourselves,
“Will people understand what we are trying to say?”, and “Are we enhancing the main message, or taking away from it?”.

3. Be great at honest constructive feedback

Creative people need feedback, and if you are in the position of giving that feedback, you need to deliver it well.
Even if their idea doesn’t work, the person must not feel like they want to give up on creating things.
Sometimes someone’s style may not suit what you are looking for, and we need to be honest about that.
It’s not better or worse, but just a different style.
