We hope you have had a great week and got to enjoy the public holiday yesterday (sorry for bringing it up if you had to work). It’s been great jumping back into connect groups – both Community and Bible, this last week as well. We are only in the second week out of 12 for this semester, so if you want to check out or join a group you have got plenty of time to jump in and enjoy.

Connect Group starting back also lines up well with our new message series for this month: “Reignite”. We believe in a supernatural God, who has given us gifts, abilities; and who empowers us to live the life He has called us to live by the Holy Spirit. We aren’t relying on our own natural strength, we are relying on His strength. But we do have a responsibility to keep growing in our relationship with God, Holy Spirit, and our gifting.

(2 Timothy 1:6 NIV) For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

How do Bible Connect Groups help us grow and keep the fire burning?

– We celebrate the victories in each other’s lives (big and small).

– We encourage each other through speaking God’s word. Journal shares and the bible are key to Connect Groups. As we all share what God has been speaking to us through the bible, we encourage each other to keep listening for God’s fresh word in our lives.

– Our discussions are applicable. We don’t just talk about nice ideas or thoughts, we talk about the bible and how we can apply what the bible says to our everyday life.

– We pray together for God’s empowerment to live out what we discussed, and believe for God to work in each other’s lives and the lives of those around us. Being part of a group helps us to hold onto faith when we might be struggling ourselves.

Connect Groups bring lift, not drag. They add fuel to the fire God has ignited in us, they don’t douse it out. Come be part of a great group this semester and Reignite and grow with us.
